| When do i get my "Security Deposit" back? | When you complete your holiday and leave our villa, our Management Company clean the villa and check it for damage. Assuming there is no damage, we aim to return your security deposit within a couple of days. If there is a problem, we will notify you and discuss the level of damage / security deposit to be withheld. Please note: this is a NON-SMOKING villa. Guests who smoke in the villa (including the garage) will lose the entire deposit. (We aim to provide you with the highest standard of furnishings and facilities - recent guest have caused damage by smoking). |
| Do I need "Pool Heating"? | Florida is known as the 'Sunshine State' and the weather is normally very warm. However, the temperature does drop at night, and the pool temperature can be cold in the morning. We recommend you have pool heating over the winter months; at other times, it is purely down to personal preference. If you are uncertain, you may choose to wait and see. You can ask our Management Company to switch the pool heating on while you are here. Depending on the length of your stay, we may ask you to pay them direct, or payment may be taken from your security deposit. Please note: pool heat takes around 24 hours to warm the pool up. |
| Do you allow pets? | Sorry - no pets allowed. (We personally love animals, but some of our guests have allergies) |
| Am i allowed to smoke in the villa? | No - our villa is STRICTLY NO SMOKING Guests found to have been smoking in the villa, including the garage, will lose their entire security deposit |
| How do I get from Sanford / Orlando International Airport to your Villa? | We will provide you with a full list of directions to our villa (and lots of other useful information). This will be emailed to you (or posted) once we have received the final balance, eg approx 8 weeks before your holiday date |
| Why do i have to pay a Security Deposit ? | Accidents happen, and the security deposit enables us to cover the cost of most of the more serious damage. (Minor accidents, such as glass breakages, will not cause us to withhold your deposit, although we do appreciate it if you can replace things you break). If you do have a more serious accident, eg you spill something on the carpet which means that we have to have it cleaned, we will withhold a portion or, in some cases, all of your deposit. Our Management Company always check and clean the villa when our guests leave - the Management Company will notify us of any damage or losses and advise us how much it will cost to repair or replace. We will then contact you to discuss this with you. The security deposit also encourages people to treat the villa with respect. Unlike a hotel, this is also a family home - we love to visit and holiday in our villa and make every effort to keep it well maintained for your benefit. You will be pleased to know that as yet (over a year) we have never had to withhold anyone's security deposit. |
| Are cleaning services included? | The villa is cleaned prior to your visit. There is no maid service or cleaning during your stay, although it will be cleaned again on your departure. For longer stays, you may ask for additional cleans. You will need to advise us how often / when you want the villa cleaned, so that we can arrange this with our Management Company. You will be charged $70 per clean (entire villa). |
| Who do i contact if there is a problem with the villa? | You should contact our Management Company, Florida 1st. We will send you their telephone number with your final details (after we receive your balance). Florida 1st also have an information folder in the villa, which we recommend that you read through. We think Florida 1st are very good, and should be able to answer most of your questions, or resolve your problems. Please contact them earlier rather than waiting - they cannot help you unless you let them know you have a problem. |
| How close is "Walmart"? | Less than 5 minutes by car (approx 2 miles). And it is HUUUUGE! |
| How close are the shops? | Walmart is 2 miles away, on the 192 (less than 5 minutes drive). The 192 has shops, restaurants and attractions for miles. There are several large malls (Florida Mall, Mall at Millenia etc) within 20 minutes' drive. |
| What direction does the pool face? | The pool faces north east. A lot of people ask for a 'south facing' pool. However, we have now visited our villa in mid-April, mid-late June, August, January and early February - and at no point did we consider the pool direction to be a problem, or there to be a lack of sun there. We usually have the sun directly on the pool from sunrise till late afternoon / early evening. At worst, during the winter months, the pool is partially shaded from late afternoon. |
| How do we gain access? | The front door has a door code. We will send you the door code with your final details, so all you have to do is key in the code (no need to collect keys from the Management Company). If the door code fails (eg, batteries need replacing), the door code also opens a small box next to the door - this box contains the key. Should you need to use the key, please replace it after use and inform the Management Company. Full details will be sent on receipt of your balance. |
| What internet facilities do you offer? | We offer a free internet WIFI facility, with a 50mbit line. You will need to bring your own PC / laptop / PDA to use this service. |
| What do you mean by "Free Phone Calls"? | 'It does what it says on the tin'. You may use the telephone to make phone calls anywhere in the world - and you will NOT BE CHARGED. Please remember the time difference to the country you are calling!! |
